The 2011 Annual Stone Soup Storytelling Festival - South Carolina's official storytelling festival - held April 29-30, was a roaring success. Tellers from as far away as New York gathered in Woodruff, SC for the two day event. They provided entertainment in the form of music, words, poetry, and bring-tears-to-your-eyes laughter.

The amateur competition (called a story swap) winners were as follows:
Youth Division-
1st - Zack Marshall, Philmont, NY - "The Parrot"
2nd - Hayden Scoggins, Campobello, SC - "A-Bi-Yo-Yo"
3rd (tie)- Emma Dell Fletcher, Taylors, SC - "Dirty Fingers"
- Jolie Patterson, Woodruff, SC - "Why the Opossums' Tail is Bare"

Adult Division-
1st Mary Brown, Gaffney, SC - "My Grandma Knows Me"
2nd Brad Zaba, Chapin, SC - "A Lesson Learned"
3rd - Eddie Smalls, Columbia, SC - "Possum Tale"

The "Jimmie's Creek" cycling events were just rides this year- everyone was a winner!  Comments - "A beautiful route".

5K "Kate Barry, She's Revolutionary" winners - only 1st places were given:
1st Men's Division - J.D. Alverez
1st Women's Division - Amy Workman
