September 2, 2011 - Storyteller at the Chapman Center. Evelyn Parks

September 17, 2011 - Chesnee Centennial- partnering with Carolina Foothills Artisan Center to bring Millie Chaplin, storyteller and corn husk doll maker. www.chesneefestival.com for festival details.

November 14, 2011- TELLABRATION, Newberry Opera House. Partnering with SCSN. 8:00pm - 9:30pm

David Baxley has been working steadily since last spring to bring an outstanding program of storytelling to the Newberry Opera House.

“Tellabration at the Opera House, A Storytelling Concert” takes place Monday, November 14, 2011, at 8 pm. With many SCSN members participating, the family program will include music, a bit of puppetry, and
lots of stories!

Featured Storyteller is Tim Lowry, one of the SCSN founding members and well known across the state for his lively and meaningful programs. Tim will also act as master of ceremonies intro ducing the other storytellers of the evening presenting short ten minute stories: David Baxley, Lisa Eister, and Martha Johnson. Tim will finish off the evening program with a longer (half hour) set of stories. Set ting the mood for the evening of story fun, (starting at 7:30 pm) and during intermission, Yostie Ashley will be entertaining with puppetry and Wade Grambell will be playing the piano setting the mood for the eve ning. Put the date on your calendar and make plans to not miss this special event…and be sure to bring all your family and friends!

We are planning an upstate teaser event with SCSN prior to the Newberry TELLABRATION at public libraries. Tellers will donate their time - this would be free event. Don't know date yet (Sept or Oct)
